Offer of Employment/Employment Agreement

Shleppers Moving & Storage is pleased to offer you a position as "Mover" commencing on , under the following terms and conditions.

Compensation and Performance Review:   Your base, non-billable hourly wage is $/per hour, and your billable hourly wage is $ /per hour. You will receive your compensation on a weekly basis in accordance with our normal payroll practices. Foremen will also receive commissions as follows:  % for materials and handling fees sold by you, % for additional volume charges sold by you on local moves, and  % for additional volume charges sold by you on long distance moves. Shleppers offers customers the ability to pay gratuities that will be passed on to movers directly.  Company may provide additional compensation for positive reviews, or otherwise for performance, at its discretion.

Your compensation and/or benefits may be adjusted upward or downward as appropriate upon review of your performance or at any time during your employment based upon business conditions, performance factors, or other relevant matters in the Company’s sole discretion.

Reporting, Duties and Schedule:  You will report to the General Manager.  Your duties will include warehouse labor, loading and unloading, and other furniture moving related tasks. 

Company Directives, Policies and Procedures.  As an employee of the Company, you will be expected to abide by the directives of your supervisor(s) as well as the rules and policies established by the Company.  These rules and policies may be modified from time to time at the sole discretion of the Company. In the event of any conflict between this offer and the Company’s rules, this Agreement shall control.

Confidentiality, Non-Solicitation, Return of Property.  As an employee of the Company, you are required to refrain from using or disclosing any trade secrets or confidential information belonging to the Company or to any client.  These trade secrets and confidential information include, but are not limited to, Company files and information, client files and information, marketing data, financial information, form files or samples of work, or other materials related to the Company’s business or its clients.  After your employment has ended, you agree that you will not use the Company’s trade secrets to solicit clients or employees of the Company to terminate their relationship with the Company or to commence a relationship with any other Company.   You agree to return all Company trade secrets, confidential information, and property to the Company upon your departure from the Company.

Employment Eligibility Verification:  This offer is contingent upon your presentation of documentation sufficient to prove your right to work in the United States within three (3) days of hire.  If this paperwork is not provided within three (3) days, you will not be permitted to work until it has been provided, or the offer of employment may be revoked.

Background/Reference Checks.  The Company checks the educational and professional references of its employees.  Employment with the Company is contingent upon satisfactory review of the references, background information and professional experience asserted by the employee.

Physical/Drug & Alcohol Screening.  This offer is contingent upon the results of a physical exam to test your fitness for duty.  This offer is also contingent upon your successful passing of a drug and alcohol screening.  

At-Will Employment Status:  Employment with the Company is at will.  This means that you may resign your employment at any time, with or without notice, and we have a similar right to alter the conditions of your employment or to terminate your employment at any time, with or without notice or cause. If this agreement is signed after you have begun working, you certify that you have been paid in full and that you have not been injured on the job. (initial)

Handbook Confirmation: You have been provided with a copy of the Company Handbook. Please acknowledge your receipt of this by initialing here. (initial)

Current Status Confirmation: This agreement, whenever signed, confirms that you have been paid for all work performed on behalf of the company, including wages, commissions, overtime, tips, and that you have taken breaks as required by law. You confirm that you have received and reviewed paystubs that accurately reflect your wages, and that you have been paid for all wages earned. You also confirm that you have not been injured on the job. You confirm that you will be required to log your hours. By signing this agreement, you confirm that it is available in both English & Spanish, and that you understand the terms contained herein. (initial)

This offer letter contains the entire understanding between you and the Company as to the terms of your offer of employment and specifically supersedes any prior representations or agreements, whether written or oral. This letter, along with any agreements herein, may not be modified or amended except by a written agreement signed by Michael Friedland, the Company’s President. 

If you accept the terms of employment set forth herein, please indicate the same by signing below.
